Petriano è un piccolo centro collinare in provincia di Pesaro e Urbino che deve il suo nome (prae tres amnes, sopra tre fiumi) a tre corsi d’acqua presenti nel suo territorio. Sono l’Apsa che scende da Urbino, il Tagliatesta che arriva dalle Cesane passando per Palazzo del Piano e il Razzo che segna il limite a nord del Comune. Tanti i luoghi d’interesse da vedere: l’antica Chiesa di San Martino, citata in un documento del 1069; la Chiesa di Santa Maria in Calafria (XIII secolo); l’Oratorio della SS. Concezione; la Chiesa di San Gallo; la Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista di Riceci; l’Edicola della Madonna dei Sodi, dove viene venerata la copia ceramica dell’immagine della Madonna dei Sodi. Ma il vero gioiello locale sono le Terme di Raffaello, le cui acque sgorgano dalla fonte La Valle.
Le Terme, convenzionate con il Servizio Sanitario Nazionale, propongono vari trattamenti terapeutici come inalazioni, insufflazioni, bagni, fanghi, massaggi e idromassaggi, oltre ad acquagym e ginnastica dolce. Dopo aver visitato il centro storico e gli stabilimenti termali, il passo successivo è approfondire le radici culturali.
La festa patronale dedicata a San Martino, che si svolge l’11 novembre, attira anche gli emigrati, che tornano dalle proprie famiglie per unirsi alla devozione degli abitanti. Per quanto riguarda la tradizione enogastronomica, sono da citare la “crescia” sfogliata, le cosiddette lumachelle di Urbino (una tipologia di pasta la cui nascita, secondo la leggenda, risalirebbe al periodo rinascimentale) e la “casciotta” di Urbino. Petriano, dunque, è una terra di sapori, di luoghi da ammirare e di relax alla portata di tutti.

In automobile da Roma: prendere A1dir/E35, prendere A1, SS 675, SS 3bis e SS 318 in direzione di SS 219 a Gubbio, prendere l’uscita Gubbio, seguire SS 219, SS 452 e SS 3 in direzione di SS 73bis a Fossombrone, continuare su SS 73bis in direzione di Strada Provinciale 5, prendere l’uscita Fossombrone Est da SS 73bis, prendere SS 3, Strada Provinciale 48, Str. Scotaneto e Strada Provinciale 58 in direzione di Petriano.

Petriano is a small hilly town in the province of Pesaro and Urbino that owes its name (prae tres amnes, above three rivers) to three watercourses in its territory. They are the Apsa that descends from Urbino, the Tagliatesta that arrives from the Cesane passing through Palazzo del Piano, and the Razzo that marks the northern limit of the Municipality.
There are many places of interest to see: the ancient Church of San Martino, mentioned in a document of 1069; the Church of Santa Maria in Calafria (thirteenth century); the Oratory of the Holy Conception; the Church of St. Gall; the Church of San Giovanni Battista in Riceci; the Edicule of the Madonna dei Sodi, where the ceramic copy of the image of the Madonna dei Sodi is venerated.
But the real local jewel is the Raphael Baths, whose waters flow from the La Valle spring. The Thermal Baths, which have an agreement with the National Health Service, offer various therapeutic treatments such as inhalations, insufflation, baths, mud baths, massages, and whirlpools, as well as water aerobics and gentle gymnastics. After visiting the historic center and the thermal baths, the next step is to delve into the cultural roots. The patron saint’s feast, dedicated to San Martino, which takes place on November 11, also attracts emigrants, who return to their families to join the devotion of the inhabitants. As far as the food and wine tradition is concerned, we must mention the “crescia” sfogliata, the so-called lumachelle di Urbino (a type of pasta whose birth, according to legend, dates back to the Renaissance period), and the “casciotta” of Urbino. Petriano, therefore, is a land of flavors and places to admire and relax, all within everyone’s reach.
