Songs that heal and comfort

Happy to announce the concert “Songs that Heal and Comfort,” a performance of Dr. Mary Rorro’s songs on vocals and viola, with arrangements of her melody and lyrics by now 99-year-old World War II Veteran Maestro Matteo Giammario. This concert is part of the Arts on Bergen concert series, at the St. Peter’s University Chapel on the grounds of the University.

Maestro Matteo is Mary’s former Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra conductor, and their reconnection during the pandemic resulted in a creative collaboration of 16 songs together. The free recital will include a number of songs written for veterans and their families, as Dr. Rorro strove to pay tribute to Veterans through music. It will also feature some songs in tribute to healthcare providers, inspirational and spiritual songs.
The recital to honor Veterans will be at St. Peter’s University, in Jersey City, on Wednesday, November 8th from Noon-1 pm.

Mr. Joseph Hill, University Director of Music, will accompany on piano.

The concert will be live-streamed on the Arts on Bergen Facebook page on November 8th. Arts on Bergen | Jersey City NJ | Facebook
