Dear Friends:
In tribute to the 9/11 victims and families, I composed my song “Never Forget” from the voice of the victims of 9/11, using the phrase “Never Forget” to always remember them, survivors, and families who continue to mourn their loss. The victims of 9/11 had stories yet to be written in their book of life and chapters that were lost.
The Reflecting pools evoked the endless tears that have been shed for the fallen, both those who were struck and trapped in the Towers, as well as FDNY firefighters and NYPD rescuers who climbed to save them, only to perish themselves.
The song concludes with their names inscribed and enshrined forever at the Memorial pools, as our hearts and souls are always entwined, and by keeping their memory and legacy alive. You may view “Never Forget” on YouTube and Google Drive links below. Special thanks to Angela Choi, American Medical Women’s Association pre-medical student member, who collaborated with me in editing the video, and my colleague Ammarritta Simpson, LCSW, who contributed some photos for the video.
I hope that my song offers a moment of reflection and healing as we remember this day together.
