Mary Rorro’s recital “Songs that Heal and Comfort” at Arts on Bergen Concert Series

Dr. Mary Rorro is a physician and songwriter and will present an Arts on Bergen Concert Series recital “Songs that Heal and Comfort,” at St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The recital will honor veterans and include songs Dr. Rorro composed in tribute to this service and sacrifice of veterans,  for healthcare providers caring for patients with COVID-19, as well as inspirational and spiritual selections.

She reconnected during the pandemic with Maestro Matteo Giammario, who is a 98-year-old World War II veteran and Dr. Rorro’s former Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra conductor. He wrote arrangements to her melody and lyrics and they collaborated on 15 songs together. St. Peter’s University Music Director Joseph Hill will accompany her on piano and Dr. Rorro will also play viola.

The free concert while take place at St. Peter’s University Chapel on campus in Jersey City, New Jersey on Thursday, September 28 from 12 Noon-1 pm.

The address at St. Peter’s is 2641 JFK Boulevard in Jersey City, New Jersey.  Free parking is available on campus.
