NEXT WEEK AT CASA ITALIANA
In collaboration with Italy on Screen Today
On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of
Carlo Collodi (1826-1890)
Author of Le avventure di Pinocchio (1883)
Carlo Lorenzini, better known by his pen name Carlo Collodi, was born in 1826 in Florence and has remained one of the most read and beloved authors of childhood literature thanks to his fantasy novel The Adventures of Pinocchio (1883). As we celebrate his 200th birthday, Italy on Screen Today has decided to shine a spotlight on the legacy of his greatest work by collaborating with Casa Italiana on two days of events, featuring a panel discussion between experts in the fields of cultural and pediatric history on September 9th and screenings of Matteo Garrone’s Pinocchio and Luigi Comencini’s Le avventure di Pinocchio at Quad Cinema on September 10th. The second screening on September 10th will be followed by a Q&A with CUNY Professors Giancarlo Lombardi and Morena Corradi.
