L’opera letteraria “Oceano di sensi” dell’autrice Maria Teresa De Donato è un romanzo d’amore, a sfondo storico: un viaggio attraverso i ricordi di Claudia, la protagonista, cominciando dalla sua infanzia e adolescenza, vissute in una Libia colonizzata dagli italiani, continuando col suo matrimonio, la nascita di suo figlio ed i fallimenti e colpi di scena che si susseguono, fino all’incontro con un uomo che cambierà completamente la sua vita.
Uno scrigno di Valori etici, il romanzo di Maria Teresa, il primo fra tutti la famiglia, in cui Claudia è cresciuta protetta, ma allo stesso tempo libera, affidandosi ad essa sempre e soprattutto nei momenti difficili. Non meno importante, il valore delle radici familiari ed il conseguente rispetto per la cultura e le tradizioni della terra di origine dei suoi genitori italiani, la Sicilia, che si innesta col valore ed il rispetto per la cultura e le tradizioni di quella terra meravigliosa, la Libia, dalle spiagge mediterranee bruciate dal sole e dal deserto irrigato da suggestive oasi, in cui Claudia è nata e cresciuta spensierata.
Scorrevole, piacevole e coinvolgente la scrittura dell’autrice, con una capacità descrittiva che dipinge immagini, luoghi, paesaggi e colori, che prendono vita nella sabbia giallo-arancio infuocata del deserto e nelle rosee sfumature dei tramonti, diventando poesia in prosa.
Attenta osservatrice delle minime sfumature dell’animo umano, Maria Teresa, accosta sapientemente le parole per descrivere emozioni e sentimenti, ma anche per trasmettere esperienze sensoriali visive, uditive, olfattive e tattili, un oceano di sensi in cui l’immaginazione del lettore naufraga dolcemente.
Un romanzo coinvolgente, intrigante, che tiene alto l’interesse e l’attenzione del lettore che, pagina dopo pagina, viene completamente rapito da una incessante curiosità. Accurata e profonda l’analisi che l’autrice fa dell’Amore, tema conduttore del romanzo, l’amore con i suoi rischi, con le sue sofferenze, ansie, solitudini, soprattutto se non corrisposto e l’amore che sa donare gioia, piacere psichico e fisico, capace di comprendere, intuire, scaldare e coccolare, quando è un sentimento condiviso.
“Oceano di sensi” è un inno alla Vita con le sue cadute e risalite, ma pur sempre da amare e vivere, anche quando sembra che tutto sia finito.
Un romanzo dai numerosi aspetti e dettagli interessanti, destinato a un pubblico molto vasto, in cui la scrittura di Maria Teresa diventa sostanza per emozioni e sentimenti che suscitano non solo piacere intellettuale, ma soprattutto moti dell’anima.

Ocean of Senses: Fiction-Historical-Erotic Short Story by Maria Teresa De Donato

The literary work “Ocean of Senses” by author Maria Teresa De Donato is a love story with a historical background: a journey through the memories of Claudia, the protagonist, starting from her childhood and adolescence lived in Libya at the time when the country was colonized by the Italians, continuing with her marriage, the birth of her son and the failures and twists that follow one another, until her encounter with a man who will completely change her life.
A treasure trove of Ethical values, Maria Teresa’s short story, the first of them being the family, in which Claudia grew up protected, but at the same time free, relying on them always and above all in difficult moments. No less important, are the value of family roots and the consequent respect for the culture and traditions of the country of origin of her Italian parents, Sicily, which is grafted with the value and respect for the culture and traditions of that wonderful land, Libya, from the sunburnt Mediterranean beaches and the desert irrigated by suggestive oases, where Claudia was born and raised lighthearted.
The author’s writing is flowing, pleasant, and engaging, with a descriptive ability that paints images, places, landscapes, and colors, which come to life in the fiery yellow-orange sand of the desert and the rosy shades of the sunsets, becoming poetry in prose.
An attentive observer of the slightest nuances of the human soul, Maria Teresa, skillfully combines words to describe emotions and feelings, but also to transmit visual, auditory, olfactory, and tactile sensory experiences, an ocean of senses where the imagination of the reader gently sinks in.
An engaging, intriguing short story that keeps high the interest and attention of the reader, who, page after page, is completely enraptured by an incessant curiosity. Accurate and profound is the analysis that the author makes of Love, the leading theme, love with its risks, sufferings, anxieties, and loneliness, especially if unrequited, and the love that can give joy, psychic and physical pleasure, capable of understanding, intuiting, warming up and pampering, when it is a shared feeling. “Ocean of senses” is a hymn to Life with its falls and rises, but still to be loved and lived, even when it seems that everything is over.
A short story with numerous interesting aspects and details, intended for a large audience, in which Maria Teresa’s writing becomes substance for emotions and feelings that arouse not only intellectual pleasure but above all soul motions.
