Presents In Search of Francis of Assisi Thursday, February 25th, 6:30 P.M. A Documentary Film by John Embrahimian and Lawrence Richards You are cordially invited to attend a screening of the new 60 minute documentary film entitled, “In Search of Francis of Assisi” at the Italian American Museum on Thursday, February 11th. The film not only celebrates the remarkable life of this somewhat mythic figure, but reveals in a thoughtful and compelling manner, an oftentimes surprising vision of the legendary Saint you thought you knew. Utilizing rich footage shot in Italy and in the U.S., the film explores in an entertaining and informative manner, his unusual conversion, the struggles and achievements. St. Francis was a complex man, an environmentalist and visionary peacemaker; a seminal influence in redefining myriad relationships between the church and its brethren.
“In Search of Francis of Assisi” evaluates and depict examples of that legacy; its profound impact today. This documentary features commentary by some of the world’s foremost Franciscan scholars. Their collective knowledge and insights are wise and revealing. Viewers will have a far better understanding and appreciation why Pope Francis chose the name, and how he’s incorporating his principles. This affects not only Catholics, but the entire world. Producer/Director John Embrahimian, will participate in a Q & A session post screening.
