French perfumes have charm and seduction. Famous brands include Guerlain, founded in Paris in 1828 by the perfumer Pierre Francois Pascal Guerlain. In 1889 Guerlain launches the oriental fragrance Fougère “Jicky”, followed by many other perfumes such as the floral “Chamade” in 1969, the floral woody fragrance “Samsara Extrait” in 1989, the floral fruity fragrance “Guerlain Champs Elysées” in 1996 which is inspired to the avenues of Paris, the collection of perfumes “Shalimar”, the elegant floral fragrance “Mon Guerlain Sparkling Bouquet”, the series of fragrances Acqua Allegoria: the floral “Cherry Blossom”, the aromatic green “Herba Fresca” which smells of green plants and dewy grass, the citrus aromatic “Lemon Fresca”, the citrus “Orange Soleia”, the fresh fruity “Coconut Fizz” and the new series of fragrances “Aqua Allegoria Pearls”. The traditional Guerlain fragrances feature a common olfactory accord that includes vanilla, bergamot, tonka bean, iris, rose, and jasmine, known as the “Guerlinade”.
Caron perfume house was founded in 1904 in Paris by perfumer Ernest Daltroff. The brand Caron has created the oriental floral fragrance “Bain de Champagne”, the floral fragrance “Fleurs de Rocaille”, and the citrus aromatic perfume “L’Eau Pure”.
Creed was founded by James Henry Creed in 1760 in London, as a sartorial workshop, then the brand moved to Paris where launched traditional and luxurious fragrances with fresh, floral, woody, amber aromas: “Vetiver” 1948 a fragrance with notes of citrus, ginger, bergamot, cedarwood, “Orange spice” 1950, the floral, woody, musk “Millésime Imperial” 1995, the floral fruity “Spring flower” 1996, the citrus aromatic “Royal Water” 1997, the floral fruity fragrance “Acqua Fiorentina” 2009 which is inspired by the art and culture of the Renaissance in Florence, Italy, the oriental floral “Delphinus” 2024, the fresh citrus “Wild Vetiver” 2026.
The brand By Kilian was founded by Kilian Hennessy in 2007, the fragrances feature floral notes such as “Rolling in Love”, sophisticated liquor scents such as “Apple Brandy on the Rocks”, “Old Fashioned” with notes of vanilla, cognac, or refreshing notes such as “Blue Moon Ginger Dash”, a fragrance for men and women.
The fashion house Givenchy was founded by Hubert de Givenchy in Paris in 1952, creates fragrances like the perfume “Givenchy” is launched in 1957, the fresh fruity floral perfume “Irresistible Givenchy”, the floral green fragrance “Fleur d’Interdit” in 1994, the floral fragrance “Mademoiselle de Givenchy Eau Florale” in 2012, the
perfume draws inspiration from the scents of Spring air, fresh citruses and green meadows.
The Yves Saint Laurent fashion brand creates fashion collections and perfumes: “Y” for women in 1964, “Eau libre” in 1975, the oriental floral fragrance “Cinéma Gold” in 2005, the fresh aromatic perfume “Y Eau Fraiche pour Homme” in 2020, the oriental floral perfume “Libre Le Parfum” in 2022, “Libre Vanille Couture” in 2025 an oriental vanilla fragrance.
The fashion brand Pierre Cardin began showing fashion collections in 1950 in Paris, producing perfumes and cosmetics in the sixties, such as the classic aromatic fragrance “Bleu Marine,” the aromatic perfume “Pierre Cardin Pour Homme,” and the floral-fruity fragrance “Pierre Cardin Pour Femme” in 2007.
The fashion designer Emanuele Ungaro creates his fashion brand in 1965 in Paris, he introduces a series of floral fragrances “Diva” in 1983 “Fleur de Diva” in 1997 “Diva Rose” in 2011.
The Boucheron brand is established as a jewelry brand in 1858 in Paris; it launches its first fragrance “Boucheron” in 1988, followed by the floral fragrances “Boucheron Place Vendome”, “Place Vendome White Gold”. The brand’s perfumes represent sophisticated elegance.
The elegant, sophisticated brand Dior was founded by Christian Dior in Paris in 1946, it’s renowned for the floral fragrance “Miss Dior” celebrates the New Look style clothing created
Guépard brand was established as a Swiss jewelry and luxury accessories brand before debuting in the perfumery, in 1997, “Guépard” a spicy fragrance for women, followed by the aromatic perfume for men “Guépard Pour Homme” in 1998, “Miss Guépard” in 2001, and “Fashion Man” in 2004. Guépard’s perfumes are manufactured in France.
Frapin creates prestigious perfumes inspired by cognac, rum, and tobacco, like the perfume “Frapin 1697”, launched in 2011; it’s a sophisticated fragrance for men and women, and the oriental perfume “Speakeasy” 2012). The brand also produces a range of cognacs in the Grand Champagne region of France since 1270.
The brand Lanvin is a prestigious fashion house founded by Jeanne Lanvin in Paris in 1889; famous fragrances are “Arpège”, “Eclat de Fleurs”, and the aromatic “Vetyver” for men.
Cartier is renowned for its jewelry, founded by Louis-Francois Cartier in Paris in 1847. The brand launched in 1981 the classy floral perfume “Must de Cartier”, “La Panthère de Cartier,” a famous, feline-inspired scent in 1986, and the floral fragrance “Panthère de Cartier Eau Légère” in 1987.
Cuba Paris is a perfume brand founded in France in 1992, famous for its Cuban cigar-shaped perfume bottles. The fragrances “Cuba Gold” and “Cuba Royal” evoke the warm, intense aromas of coffee, rum, and tobacco, with sweet spices and fresh floral-citrus notes.

French perfumery has also created two perfumes referring to Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei: the amber-chypre perfume “Galileo” by Henry Jacques; the fragrance has notes of lavender, Italian mandarin, geranium, oakmoss, amber, tobacco, and the perfume “Ganymede” by the French fashion designer Marc-Antoine Barrois and the perfumer Quentin Bisch, the fragrance blends leathery notes with Italian mandarin and mineral, metallic notes create a spatial atmosphere. Ganymede is the largest rocky saltwater ocean moon of Jupiter and was discovered by the astronomer Galileo Galilei through the telescope.
