St. Patrick’s Day might be a great excuse to drink green-colored beer before noon, but in New York, the holiday offers way more than just day drinking at pubs…In fact one of the best NYC events in March is The NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which can be viewed along 5th Avenue between 44th Street and 79th Street from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m!!! The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York is older than our country, dating to 1762. The parade’s line of march is traditionally led by the honor guard of the 69th Regiment of the New York State National Guard, the storied “Fighting 69th.” And therein lies a tale.
