Cannes Film Festival Nominates The Italian film “Le Meraviglie”

An Italian film, Le Meraviglie (The Wonders) by Alice Rohrwacher, was nominated for the 67th edition of the Golden Palm, to occur next month at the Cannes Film Festival. The film, which is the only Italian selection in the competition, features Monica Bellucci and the director’s sister Alba Rohrwacher.
The 33-year-old Italian movie director came to be an international celebrity in 2011, when she won, with her film Heavenly Body (Corpo celeste), the up-and-coming filmmaker’s prize at the Directors’ Fortnight, an independent film festival held in parallel to Cannes. Rohrwacher’s film is one of eighteen films nominated this year.

The Cannes Film Festival takes place in Cannes (Southern France) on May 14-May 25 .
