The municipal holiday of Christopher Columbus Day was eliminated in Philadelphia!!

Mayor Kenney of Philadelphia has, without a public hearing on the issue and by bypassing City Council, resorted to executive power to eliminate the municipal holiday of Christopher Columbus day in Philadelphia, renaming it “Indigenous People’s Day” despite that

  1.  two holidays have already been established honoring the tribal peoples of the Americas

  2. the national holiday of Christopher Columbus Day still exists

  3. Christopher Columbus was the first civil rights activist of the Americas.

We strongly urge all concerned Americans to express their outrage in a letter to Kenney either to his email address: [email protected]; his phone number: (215) 686-2181; or by writing him at City Hall, Office 215 Philadelphia, PA 19107.
